By strategically appointing a known highly disturbed individual to another commission that'd hold these men accountable, after having furnished the proposal to eliminate them altogether, they knew the intolerable disturbance it would cause would act as an insurance of sorts in their cohered pursuit to abolish all opposition standing in their way, in the event they would be met with strong opposition. [Please view the Official Opinion of Ethical Concern regarding this man Mr. George Chachas.] This kind of playing politics hurts the very members of the public the most, whom come before this board on specific matters in full trust that the issues being brought forth, are properly attended to in the absence of political disruption, by what should be comprised of a Professional Quorum of Public Volunteers.
This is a collaborated effort by just a few men of influence to execute their TOTALITARIAN COUNTY TAKEOVER, and by no means is this an over statement. The highly alarming exchanges of conversation between the two , speaks loudly about the content of their character and true intent, mocking the County Commissioners for how easy it's been to get them to bend to their every will. And if things don’t go their way, they’ll grab what they can, hop ship and leave town. This is a Massive Money Grab by two influencers that portray to care about this community, but as evidenced by their actions, have shown very little respect for its people. These EXPENSIVE “projects” (as our budget grows on the backs of the tax paying public), are running this county and the morale of its people, straight into the gutter at lightening speed.
In the January 11th 2023 County Commission Meeting video footage, courtesy of Ely’s Georgetown Media productions, Commissioner Howe expresses his deep ethical concern regarding the actions taken by the two men to have appointed a person of interest to another commission behind closed doors within just days of proposing to abolish it altogether Howe’s prime concern is that this was a deliberate act to EXCLUDE the members of the selection process; in violation of open meeting law [NRS 241]. You’ll notice these two men squirm in their seats a bit, scrambling for a response to Howe’s concern before Wheable finally offers up a rebuttal. His excusal of sorts was to ensure the RPC can operate smoothly and that it’s their duty. The only problem with his statement is that this Commission was not lacking a quorum in lieu of Chachas’s improper assignment, to warrant such disregard of the law. This is the first time admitted on record, that the two attorneys have been so boldfaced in their collaborated effort to exclude the participation of the County Commissioners from the appointee selection process. Their cohered effort to conspire in secrecy cannot be denied. The NV Attorney General and NV State Bar DO NOT take these kind of abuses lightly.
As per NRS 241.040 (1)(2), “Criminal and civil penalties; .. 1. Except as otherwise provided in subsection 6, each member of a public body who attends a meeting of that public body where any violation of this chapter occurs, has knowledge of the violation and participates in the violation, is guilty of a misdemeanor. 2. Except as otherwise provided in subsection 6, wrongful exclusion of any person or persons from a meeting is a misdemeanor.” This punishable offense is also subject to fines as detailed in the FINE schedule, NRS 241.040, 4. (a)(b)(c).
Brought to you as a public service, courtesy of Ely’s Georgetown Media, the following video clearly illustrates that both Beecher and Wheable's improper appointment of a known disturbed individual was not for the betterment of the people in mind, but rather, for fun & games. You can see in this March 22nd 2023 County Commission Meeting (at about 7:00 into the video footage), they had to instruct the County Sheriff to remove this highly disturbed individual from Beecher's very own meeting, just TWO short months after the improper appointment of this man to another commission was made. Thus the argument of not knowing the disturbance they might inflict by such action, is nullified. But the very two men responsible for appointing this man Mr. George Chachas to another commission, it seems have suddenly changed tune within just months after being exposed, with their latest and greatest Letter of Censure. This is the kind of political theatre we waste our tax dollars on folks. We pay our Commissioners some $35K a year to discuss real pressing issues for the betterment of the people; not for a public display of this kind of political theatre.
We the People have oversight agencies at our disposal to assist in these type of unethical matters, on both the State and Federal level. What has been allowed to ensue IS NOT ACCEPTABLE in an honest and fair government. This level of unethical misconduct has become a commonplace practice in White Pine County for decades, and the boldness has only intensified. But it DOES NOT mean a time to end it wouldn’t come. It lies upon the government to prioritize the welfare of its citizens above ALL other concerns. When this responsibility is neglected and abused, the responsibility to enact change then falls upon all of us, We the People.
